Family-Friendly Christmas in Texas *to be updated!*

It's the Most Fun-Filled Time of the Year!

It’s that time of year again, y’all! Christmas in Texas is a joyous occasion with plenty of excitement for the youngsters. Why not deliver an exciting December for the whole family this Christmas season – right alongside our Planting Seeds Tutoring & Test Prep tutors. Here are some of the suggestions from our very own tutors!

Christmas at the Park

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has a calendar of events for Texas-sized family-friendly fun in the great outdoors.

The Texas Hill Country offers plenty of exciting events near Austin, Waco, and San Antonio (just to name a few). Check out the Christmas at the Ranch at South Llano River State Park, or Campground Christmas Carols at Pedernales Falls State Park.

Christmas and S’mores is sure to please the younger crowd at Colorado Bend State Park.

Tree Lighting Ceremonies

Tree Lighting ceremonies can be a wondrous occasion for people of all ages. Check out the Conroe Tree Lighting Ceremony on Dec. 3rd (that’s TOMORROW!).

Check out your city’s main website and the event calendar to see if your town hosts a whole lot of fun for you and yours to welcome in the Christmas season.

Festivals in Historic Towns

Texas is rife with unique history, and our Planting Seeds tutors enjoy sharing bits of history in our tutoring lessons. Take up the mantle with showing your little ones how live in ye olden days worked before internet and smartphones. Check out what the holidays would have looked like at A Homemade Christmas at the Alamo in San Antonio, or the Holiday Capitol Tour in Austin. In fact, most small Texas towns from El Paso to Beaumont have historical Christmas parades!

Check out Home for the Holidays at Old Town Spring, a historical train station right outside of Houston. Or, why not stop by the instagram-worthy Fredericksburg during it’s beautiful Light the Night Christmas Parade & Afterglow

Christmas Lights

We know you’ve heard someone say, “Everything’s bigger in Texas!” and Christmas Lights are no exception. Check out Santa’s Wonderland in College Station (they have a Texas-Sized Gingerbread Village, too!).

While you’re visiting the Capitol of Texas, visit the Austin Trail of Lights in Zilker Park from December 10th-23rd. Houston shares the holiday spirit with its River Oaks Christmas lights – these impressive homes light up the night with their holiday displays! When you’re in Houston, be sure to visit the zoo lights display . It’s an incredible display with their earth-friendly LED lights!
