Seekers of Knowledge Foundation

We are very pleased to announce that Planting Seeds Tutoring & Test Prep will offer scholarships to our students. 

This scholarship foundation is created for the purpose of awarding students who have exemplified a true passion for learning through seeking education in all aspects of life. At Planting Seeds Tutoring & Test Prep, we truly believe that passionate learning is the seed to growth. Through education, students can improve their skills, grow in their mindset, and build their character to embody what it truly means to be a Seeker of Knowledge.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on financial need, academic achievement, and community involvement.

Scholarship Details and Criteria

Name of Scholarship: Seekers of Knowledge Scholarship

Deadline: August 15th, 2019

Scholarships Awarded: 2

Amount Awarded: $500 per scholarship ($250 per semester).. It will be paid to the college the recipient attends. 

Purpose: This scholarship foundation is created for the purpose of awarding students who have exemplified a true passion for learning along with a strong involvement in the community.

Selection Criteria:.

  • Must be graduating high school senior or current college student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a scale of 4.0).
  • Applicants must be enrolled as full time students.
  • Applicants must have history of participate in leadership roles.
  • Applicants must have some type of community/extracurricular involvement.
  • An interest in pursuing a career in education is a plus.

Things that need to be provided (REQUIRED):

  • High School and/or College Transcript
  • (2) letters of reference/recommendations

Scholarship Recipients will be chosen on: {Date}

Questions to ask applicants (150 words or less per question)– (REQUIRED):

  1. What does education mean to you?
  2. What is your passion? What will you do with your passion?
  3. What is the difference between a leader and a follower?

Details of Scholarship

Name of Scholarship: Run Your Marathon Scholarship 

Deadline: August 15th, 2019

Scholarships Awarded: 1

Amount Awarded: $500 per scholarship ($250 per semester). It will be paid to the college the recipient attends. 

Purpose: This scholarship foundation was created from the inspiration of the late great Nipsey Hussle who had a profound impact on many people’s lives. This scholarship represents his philanthropic efforts and awards students who “run their marathon” and plan to use their gifts & talents to make a lasting impact in any capacity they choose.

Selection Criteria:

  • Must be graduating high school senior or current college student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a scale of 4.0).
  • Applicants must be enrolled as full time students.
  • Applicants must have history of participating in leadership roles.
  • Applicants must have some type of community/extracurricular involvement.

Details of Scholarship

Name of Scholarship: Plant The Seed Scholarship

Deadline: August 15th, 2019

Scholarships Awarded: 1

Amount Awarded: $500 scholarship. (It will be allocated to the student’s account for tutoring sessions.)

Purpose: This scholarship was created to help low income students with their academics. This scholarship is designed to help low income students the opportunity to improve their academics and get 1 on 1 tutoring support throughout the school year. The scholarship rewards students from low-income families who exhibit hard work and a strong will to succeed. Financial need is a prerequisite, along with solid academic achievement and extracurricular participation.


Selection Criteria:

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a Texas based school between the grades of Kindergarten thru 12th grade
  • Families must have a combined annual income of less than $30,000.

Valid for (1) student only.

Families must live in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio or Houston.


Things that need to be provided (REQUIRED):

  • Your most recent tax return
  • Driver’s License
