The Advanced Placement Test, or AP test for short, is an assessment given to high school students upon completion of an Advanced Placement course. The test differs on subjects and is provided by CollegeBoard.

The AP test is used to determine if a student has mastered a particular subject. A high score on an AP test (typically understood as a 3 or above) can benefit your student in several ways:

  • It can transfer as credit to a college or university
  • It can save you money
  • It can provide students an academic edge over their peers

The Texas Success Initiative, or TSI, is a state-wide mandatory test for students entering higher education. It assesses the student’s abilities in Math, Reading, and Writing. The TSI is available to students in their latter years of high school and is used to determine if the student requires developmental, or accelerated, learning in one of the tested subjects. The GRE, or Graduate Record Examination, is an exam offered by the test host ETS to Texas students who have received a degree from a four-year university and seek to further their education in a specific field.

The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) is the test accepted by most business schools. If you want to receive a Master of Business Administration degree, there’s a high chance you’ll need to take the GMAT. The GMAT tests each student in the following areas:

The LSAT, or Law School Admissions Test, is the assessment of how well a student will perform during his or her first year of Law school. It is accepted by all American Bar law schools. The areas which the LSAT tests are:
